Went on a late morning Saturday fish with my brother and a friend after a great thanksgiving. Fished from the shore between Gifford and Daisy. Got a fire going then cast a few lines out and started fishing. Actually started out pretty good. My buddy Myles had 2 bites within 15 minutes but never landed them. On the third strike he reeled in a 15" rainbow so we threw that on the stringer. After his 4th or 5th bite I decided to ask what he was using cause my brother and I hadn't got jack in the first 45 minutes. Both my brother and I were using powerbait and worms (I was using red he was using green). Myles however was using garlic scented powerbait which I have never used before. Once we threw that on my brother landed another rainbow at about 15" and I actually got a bite but never landed one. Myles ended up landing one more that was about 16" and that was all we got. Few more bites throughout the rest of the day but then was slow till just before dark. I'll be trying again hopefully next week but am encouraged about catching some good trout this winter.

Good work Lambojac. I think you did just as good as most people last weekend. Fishing was just a little off.

Often times Garlic seems to work well. I dip my bait in Garlic powder when I want the scent.
