This was a split full day guide trip. The warm up was Brewster for Sockeye and the second half of the trip was below Wells Dam for Kings. We already know that Brewster is on fire for Sockeye. We had 200 plus boats fighting for position to battle the sneaky Sockeye. We started at 5am and and the fishing was very good using MoneyMaker Limininators, size "o" Dodgers and a secret weapon a MoneyMaker Scent Bomb 10 to 14 inches in front of the Dodger filled with shrimped scented tuna fish and Sockeye Dipping Sauce. After catching our fill of Sockeye we went after the hatchery Chinook at noon below wells dam. I told my customers that two to three keepers would be the average in an afternoon at this one spot that has been producing. I am not giving away the spot directly, but a crafty fisherman can figure it out as beeing one of two spots below Wells Dam. I use MoneyMaker Scent Bombs to execute the most bites per hour. I use a variety of marinades with Tuna fish packed in oil. I like the Super Dipping Sauce original Salmon the best with Krill and garlic close behind. I will have 6 scent bombs in every batch ready to go as pictured. If I find a scent that is hot then I will switch 3/4 of the rods to that mixture. The Super Baits are kind of tricky to set up correctly so I am posting my leader set up and drill pattern to help you get more action. You can always take a tune up trip to get a better understanding about all the tricks that can be done to help the Super Baits spin better. My customers had a blast an claimed that it was the best fishing trip of their lives and that is hard to beat! I let my customers set all the hooks after they froze on the first take down. They were not use to seeing take downs on off the downrigger and all they could do is make that funny noise which means that the rod is going nuts. I turned around and hammered the barb less hook while they were still in shock! They hammer the rest and that made me as a guide coach very proud. We didn't lose any take downs!! All they could do at the end of the day was say how much fun they had out on the water!
