I launched solo out of Porky at first light on Saturday and headed upriver. I trolled a husky jerk up the stretch below buoy 5 and landed 1 21 inch and 1 3 lb smallie. I also lost an eye that felt to be about 4-5 lbs before I could reel it all the way to the boat. I rated the day a 4 not because I had a great day catching fish but because I landed a 30 inch spawned out female eye that was around 11 lbs. I took a couple of pictures and let her go to continue to replenish the eyes in Roosevelt. She fell for a blade bait; I also caught a hand full of dinks as I worked my way back to Porky, Not a great fishing day but a great day to be on the water.

Hi Mark, how is the water level currently. Any problems launching, and does it appear that the level is on the rise? Thnx, Mtngrizz

Hey Grizz,

The water level on Saturday was about 1249 which meant going through 5' deep water to get upriver of buoy 5. As long as person knows where the channel is its not too bad, if you are not familiar with where the channel is it could get quite expensive fast. The Porky launch was just fine. I always check the hydrologic prediction service by NOAA to check the lake level before heading out to Roosevelt.
