Tough fishing. Had all the potential for the makings of a great day. Sunny. No wind. only problem was the fish didnt cooporate. We got to the launch at Kettle at 8:00. we ran down to the collvile river mouth and picked up a 19" eye early on a chartruesse blade casting towards shore and jigging it back towards the boat. He got another hit on the same thing 10minutes or so later. That was it for the eyes for the rest of the day. I picked up a burbot further in towards the collville. 2fish in the boat in 2hous caused us to move down the lake to another spot. nothing doing there, so we moved up the lake and fished a huge hump outside of the big bay above the bridge. No bites. we were finding great spots with lots of structure and depth changes, but we just weren't marking many fish. By 1, we moved up to the kettle river. Here we found many fish, alas, but in an hour of fishing, couldn't manage a bite. the water temp in the kettle was 4 degrees less at 32deg., so maybe that was it. we tried real hard, fished everything we had, but couldn't figure them out today.
