First off I would like to thank those that have regularly posted on this site. I have learned a lot about fishing at Roosevelt from you, so I thought it was due time to report on my success. All the years of growing up and fishing I would never had thought that fishing is a winter sport. Boy was I wrong.
Today we had a great day. Launched at Lincoln about 10 and shot across to A rock, nothing there so we cruised on down to Sterling Point. We started to pick up fish right away just downstream of the marker on the north side.
We caught 2 on a long line using a Rapala, and 4 using a bright orange Apex on leaded line out 3 colors. The other 4 were caught on 3 colors of leaded line and some orange imitation Kekada flies. 2 round trips around the corner and back and we were limited out
The lake level was very full and there was a bunch of debris out there so be careful.
We also had the opportunity to see the bighorn sheep over along the rocks

Awesome! Thanks for the report. Now it's you that is helping others become better at fishing this amazing reservoir. Sounds like they were hitting a lot of different presentations. Thanks for adding the Kekeda flies to your spread. You got that right about it being a Winter sport. We look forward to late Fall and Winter every year just for Roosevelt fishing. Take care, Dave

Oops! I just realized you said imitation Kekeda flies. Missed that the first time I read through it. I kinda look like an idiot now, ha ha.

I did buy a few flies from you last year and have since tried to make my own after your pattern, so the honor goes to you. Thanks for all the help and support.

Well I appreciate that. I bet there was a lot of satisfaction tying your own and catching fish. Good luck with them in the future as well. -Dave
