I have never done well at Roosevelt on my previous 3 trips over the last 2 year's, until yesterday. Launched at Lincoln around 10, and headed down river to Sterling Point. All the other boats, about 5-7, were fairly close to the bank, so I started trolling out in the deep water with plugs while I rigged up the other rods with flies. I put out a broken back Rapala, green with an orange belly, and a 4" orange and white Rapala. The broken back got 3 fish before I put all 4 rods in the water, so I scrapped the flies altogether and ran 3 broken back, 2 green and one brown and orange. Green and orange caught 60% of the fish. I was experimenting with the 4 rod and threw on an orange and black Sebile magic swimmer. This ended up being the hot rod in the afternoon picking up 8 fish. We only kept 11 that were 16" and let the smaller ones go. We hooked around 25 fish lost more than a couple at the boat because my mom really wanted to net one and it took 4 fish for her to finally get one in there. Great weather a little bit of wind and hard hitting and feisty fish.
