Got out late (7:00AM) on a cloudy morning, at the south end . I motored straight across to the south west side and started trolling just off the bank in 90-60 feet of water. Bottom has a lots of trees, be careful of snags. My downrigger wasn't set up so I used 1.5 oz of weight on Doc Martin lake troll rudder with a red wedding ring tipped with maggots.
After trolling for a half hour I found the school down about 35 feet and marked inn onteh GPS. I kept zig zagging through the spot and limited on moderate size kokanee in about 30 minutes.
There is a little bay south of a bluff point that sticks out into the lake. I usually find schools of kokanee about 200 yards towards the dam from this point, near the cabin with the long wooden steps up the hillside. They seem to hug the steep shoreline.
The only thing to make it better would have been to have my son or father-in-law along to share the fun.
