My comments are ;
There is definitely something not right with some of the trout that can be caught in the water of Summit Lake.
My son and I were able to catch plenty of trout but were not inclined to keep most of them because of some kind of sores that are present on the trout. A few of them were so covered with sores , we were tempted to simply give it up and go home. Instead, we changed areas to fish, but still caught several that were released alive that still had the sores. We did manage to find a few that were " clean", so were able to keep a few for the table.
The wind made itself known in the afternoon, as did the rain. Yet it did feel great to be on the water and find some action that got the heart pumping again.
Be advised of what you put in the water, because it is a source of potable water for the homes on the shore.
I did submit a notice to the Department of Fish and Wildlife about the fish, hoping they can check the problem and restore a healthy fishery.
Tight lines and life jackets, one and all!!
