CF and I set out to show our friend Tim what the winter fishery at Lake Roosevelt was all about. The cloud below us as we dropped down to Keller was gorgeous and multiple Turkeys and deer along the road made for a great pre-fish warmup. A cold NE wind swept across the empty parking lot at the launch. We headed 2 miles SW from the launch and had lines in the water by 8 AM. Fortunately we did not have to eat crow for Tim and boated 15 fish by 9:30, all C&R. Almost instantly the action slowed considerably and we boated another 20 over the next 4 hours. Kekeda flies in orange and black/orange were responsible for the majority of the fish on down riggers between 15-30 feet. We tried multiple plugs and sizes with an occasional fish. We landed more carryovers than last week and no fish less than 15 inches today. largest fish today was 20 inches. Water temperature was still 55 and there was a cold NE wind which made our heated canvas enclosure appreciated. I expect as the water temp lowers fish will congregate closer to the surface. With the Holiday I don't we will make it back until next week. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Great job once again. I have to say, I'm a little envious watching you make all these reports and not getting out myself. Good to hear about more carryovers on the flies. Thanks for the report and well done! Dave

Nice Fish! I would like to know more about your boat. I am looking right now, at a Lund fury XL. Info appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi from Denny: I thought I might share my experience with Lund boats. I've had two of them. (14 & 16.5 foot) For my money I think they are awesome boats. I have had a 1650 Lund Renegade open tiller model since 2011 and couldn't be happier. It is super stable, very high sided, wide, 700 pounds(boat only), rides extremly smooth, never a problem of any kind, is open from front to rear for fishing anywhere from the boat unless I decide to put the top on. It's perfect for lake fishing or fishing for kings on the Columbia. I have a 30 hp. Etec for power and it does about 21 mph with me in it about 16 mph with four large adults in it. I know there are a whole lot of great boats out there, You need to choose what fits your needs tho. But I have been absoulutely happy with both Lunds I've had.

I heartily agree with Denny. I have an 18 ft Lund Sports Angler, my second Lund. Lund's quality is excellent. What I like best about the Angler is the amount of room inside the cockpit. Which model depends on your needs and pocketbook. I am 100 percent happy with my Lund.

You will not go wrong with a Lund.
