First trip this fall to Roosevelt for me after recovering and doing well from the surgery I had. Those fish were just calling to be caught!

One of the nice things about fall/winter fishing at Roosevelt is you don't have to be there at the crack of dawn to catch fish. It was below freezing when I left home so had to scrape frost off the windows of the truck for the first time this fall. The boat was all snug in the barn waiting and anxious to go; the old Starcraft just loves to fish!

Met friend Mark in town and we were greeted at Ft Spokane by four or five people getting ready to launch. There were already 15 empty trailers in the parking lot. Got our boat ready to go and fired up the heater.....gotta love a top and heat when it's 32 with a breeze on the water! Poles in at 9:00.

It took a whole 15 minutes to get the first fish while trolling three colors of leaded line with a Kekeda perch fly ( Thanks Dave, https://www.etsy.com/listing/174537991/5-kekeda-tackle-trolling-flies ). Trolling 2.2 to 2.5 MPH worked the best. The Kekeda was the winner for the day. Caught a fish or two on a Rapala.

We caught fish steadily, lost some and boated our limit by 1:00PM. The biggest was a beautiful 18 incher and the others were the fall 15" that are absolute toads. They have been eating well! The meat is bright red and they are awesome table fare. The second picture is the 18" butterfly filleted ready to go on the pellet smoker grill for dinner. Did I say Yum?

Tight lines everybody - Alan

Absolutely my pleasure Alan. Glad they could get the job done once again. I appreciate you posting the website as well. I have been tying frantically to get orders out for guys as soon as I can so no fishing for me this weekend. I'll be heading out on Veteran's Day with my brother. Like you said, it's nice to be able to take your time getting there. Enjoy a cup of coffee and breakfast before heading out. Well done, sir! -Dave

Thanks for the report Al. It is tough to beat the Roosevelt fish in the fall. I think when the water gets down to that 52 degrees the bigger ones will be heading up the Spokane like last year.

That would be nice! I don't think I'd be doing much fishing anyway with the little ones at home. They take the cake when it comes to my time. They'll only be this little for so long and before I know it I'll have all the time in the world to fish and wish my kids were little again. I'm thankful to get out a few times in the Fall and Winter. I just love watching and reading about everyone's success on here, keeps that bug inside me itching. I'm so appreciative of the business everyone has been helping me build on here. It's been a blast! -Dave

Good job Alan and so glad to hear all is well!! Nothing beats a nice cool day on the water at Roosevelt, my favorite time to fish. Have to go up tomorrow to drain water lines at the place, but doubt I'll have time to get the boat wet while there, but you never know. When I get home I've got 17lbs of fillets waiting to go in the smoker, hope there will be enough room for them all! ;-)

That's a great pile of fillets. I can just smell them smoking! The mind is a great thing if cared for with enough time in God's great creation fishing. Maybe you'll have enough time to fish a round or two close to home. - Alan

DRAl, Thanks for the report. This is killing me sitting here in western WA trying to fight my way through obligations until I can spring loose. Hewesfisher tells me the snow may hit over there later this week; that's not a problem as I'd rather have snow than sit on the sidelines.
From all the reports coming in it sounds like the 'bows are in the top 15 FOW.

We got a skiff here Sunday night and forecast is calling for 10% chance during the day Thursday and 30% chance Thursday night. Snow no problem, but near zero wind chill sucks. I was there yesterday to drain water lines, beautiful day, sunny, just a hint of a breeze, calm water. I had thoughts of getting a couple hours on the water, but it was 3:30 by the time I finished, so gathered my tools and my puppy and headed home. :-(

Not at all Alan, I had some other things to do while there as well, and they took longer than anticipated. I enjoyed the visit too! :-)
