Glenn and I were lucky enough to take out a couple of disabled veterans for a day of walleye fishing on the Spokane Arm. We launched early Saturday morning and proceeded to work our way up river looking for some eyes. We were mainly looking for weed beds so we could target any eyes that were feeding on this years hatch. We started tossing 1/4 oz jigs up into the weeds and started catching a bunch of dinks. As the day wore on the boat traffic began picking up so we started to target some of the mud lines they were creating. We caught eyes in pretty shallow water in those mud lines. For anyone new to walleye fishing in this area at this time of year those mud lines can produce a lot of fish. Our tally for the day was between 45-50 eyes, we kept 15 so that Robert and Clint could have some fresh walleyes to cook up. Both Robert and Clint caught numerous fish so the day was a great success, not bad for a blind guy Robert. Glenn and I were both glad to be able to share a passion/obsession we have with a couple of fellow vets and thanks also to Healing Waters who made the trip possible.

CCTMark,
Thanks for the info and the report! I've been challenged lately up the Spokane Arm; I can't seem to come up with anything above 12" and I've used about used everything I own for terminal tackle. I may be too shallow at 10 to 30' and uncle wally might be further down river. I've spent most of my time up from where the river opens up into the first bay just up river from Porcupine Bay, to buoy 5.
