My oldest son drove over from the coast with a buddy from work wanted to fish Wally's . I asked what time he was going to pick me up. Called and told me around 5 a.m. I was up at 4 loading the boat so we could leave. We were a bit nervous since it was the big weekend and he had gotten a few reports that the launch was full of rig's. Still guessed it would have less pressure than Porkypine.

3 of us in the boat and we hit some of the tried and true spots. Compared to some of the folks we saw I guess you can say we did Ok!! If we had paid more attentiion to the live well I do think success would have been better. But I do have a bit of intell for the next run.

The sheriffs had a pair of boats floating and there was evidence that maybe some fire works got out of hand since the bank across from the launch had burnt.

Did get to see a pair of Bald Eagles fishing and buzzing around so that made the trip all worth while.

Where did you end up launching - Hunters? I walked down to the launch at Seven Bays Friday afternoon and I have never seen it that full, no place at all in the paved parking, the dirt area just above the lot was jam packed and even the road to the old Seven Bays campground was littered with tow vehicles and trailers. Porky Bay sign said campgrounds full Thursday evening on our way up and on our way home Saturday afternoon the "parking lot full" sign was up as well (probably that way Friday). I counted 15 boats on the beach where I bank fish in the evening, so I didn't even bother going down. Glad you were able to get out. :-)

Clawman: We were fishing Wally's

Hewes: Yes we launched from Hunter's . The lot had several open spots when we got there but in the afternoon it was Helter Skelter parking.

I guess if I would have to rate this by some of the folks. Since we didn't catch as many as we could it is a 1. Since we also didn't catch as many as we could perhaps it was a waste of gas.
Well Just pitchin Nickels now to "plan" the next trip to see if I learned any thing. My Dawg may not be to Happy since she will be left home way to hot for her to sit in the boat for that long. If you see an old grumpy guy floatin solo it just might be me!
