After reading several post on good fishing we decided to Fish the weekend out of Spring Canyon with friends and family. We read that fishing was good within sight of the boat launch (lol). That is true, although you can see the boat launch all the way from the dam to several miles up river. I guess what that means is, we experienced pretty good fishing anywhere we went. Some areas were better than others, but pretty much we trolled the north side of the lake (within sight of the boat launch). Got one kokanee, and a lot of bows, which to my surprise taste REALLY good. Don't waste your money like we did and buy all kinds of gear like leaded line and line counters. We tied a "gold fish" rapala directly to the line and that was the only thing that worked. If you couldn't get a bite, let out more lines. Kinda fun fishing with a bunch of Disney land poles and reels with these hard fighters.
My buddy cooked some up the first day, and I was very surprised of the bright red meat, firmness and quality taste that the triploids provide. We will probably start making this our annual spring break trip.
