Hit Roosevelt out of Spring Canyon on Saturday. Boat in the water by eight and fishing by 8:20. Started out by Peach Point trolling in 200 feet of water with flasher/fly, flicker shad, and two rods with kokanee setups. First fish about 8:45 on the flicker shad, rainbow. Trolled around Peach Point for a while with no more takers so across we go to the other side.

Missed one on the way over on the flicker shad, asleep at the wheel. Got into about 100 feet of water and began to run parallel to the shore towards the north. Picked up a couple more fish, one on flicker and dad got one on a spinner/worm. Changed some gear around so we are running three plugs and one spinner. Had a very nice take on a jointed Rapala but fish screamed away and snapped the line. Put on a pins minow and down 10 feet on the downrigger. Picked up a couple more fish, one on flicker shad and one on the pins minnow. About 1:30, put last fish of the day in the boat for our limit of ten. No consistency in the bite until we hit 18 feet deep, then a double and a few singles. Finished up at that depth. Fish ranged anywhere from 14" to 21" and had mostly reddish meat.

One thing was a little discouraging. While cleaning the fish, noticed a lump on the biggest one. You can see it in the picture. I poked it with the end of my fillet knife and some pink ooze started coming out. Decided that was not very appetizing so that one went bye-bye. Hate wasting fish but better than getting ill, does anyone know what that might have been?
