I live out at Nine Mile and the water going over the dam has been pure mud! We decided to launch at 7 Bays and fish down river instead of the confluence like we have been doing. As we approached 7 Bays we could see the lake had a brown tint all the way to the corner past Hawk Creek. We made a pass out in front of 7 Bays and saw nothing on the sonar. We decided to run down past Sterling and give it a try. The water was much clearer and we found some fish on the sonar. We started with the olive bunny that we caught our fish on last week. Caught only one. We also ran the usual orange belly Rapala that didn't get any last week and it was getting hits....go figure! We also picked the speed back up 2.2 mph.

We caught a few and then it died; time to experiment again. Put on the perch Kekeda and it was game on. It was on fire!! (Thanks Dave Browning) Finished out our limit for the three of us by 1:00 pm. What a beautiful day, mostly sunny and nearly 60 degrees; no heater needed. Ya hooo..........!! All were the usual trip fatties with an 18" thrown in for good measure.

The picture of Of Ed with the Sea Hawk hat shows a big grin; wonder why? Had a blast as always with good friends.

Tight lines,

Alan

Nice Report Al !!!
Went up to see if I could drag the boat out of the shed with the warming weather. Had a 500 foot mud Bog but it should be stiffer by this weekend. Not sure I wanted to hook up to the boat and then leave it in the drive. Snow was going fast . The Ice at the mouth of the kettle was getting that dark green color. Saw one lone boat roaming around above the bridge also.

Thanks for the report Al. I will be putting the boat in tomorrow (Monday) and heading down to Swawilla. I got some of Dave's flies the other day and I'll try them on some Kok's.

I'm glad the Kekeda could deliver. Thanks for the great shout out! I have to say the best part of starting this whole thing is meeting and talking with so many great people from around our area. Great job on the catch Alan.

Nice report Alan and I recognize the background. :-)

I'm stuck at home with a heavy workload and my son's dog (she's NOT boat friendly) for at least another couple weeks. Haven't been out since mid-January and would really like to get away, soon I hope!
