We put in at Crescent Bay around 9:30. I had a co-worker along for the day. We wanted to fish out of my 14Ft. Livingston. But, I couldn't get the motor to start. I pulled on that rope until I was blistered and sweating something terrible. Not ones to be stopped from fishing we decided to plunk from shore. We went up to Spring canyon to give it a go. Upon arrival we were joined by 2 other friendly fellows. 4 of us fished from 11:30 until 3:30. 5 poles in the water for 4 hrs.= 2 bites! We saw the occasional fish jump. We bs'd and tried to enjoy the day.
Upon return home I walked back and gave that rope a pull and she fired off !!!
One of those days that will stick with me like it or not!!
I didn't have to clean any fish!

Bummer Man! Still beat working though uh?
Fatherinlaw and Brotherinlaw went from shore yesterday up there at the yaht club as he calls it, I think it's called Eatons bay??? The one down from spring canyon towards the dam. They fininshed one shy of their limit. Should of had it though, missed and lossed several. Marshmellows shrimp and crawler on the bottom.
Better luck next time. Whats next weekend look like for you? I had a buddy (Lundeguard) go up and hit it sat. for walleye, yet to hear back from him. I'm thinking of a two day trip here real soon. Let me know what you have available next weekend. Sunday is out for me though.

I bet you could almost hear that motor laughing when she fired up! Raw deal on the fishing. Better luck next time you go. Thanks for the report for the bank fisherman.

Roger That!
I might hold off and save on my hall passes this weekend then. I really want to go up and spend the night and hit it two days in a row and work on the walleye. My buddy got back and they had a little tougher go then the reports further up at the fort. They ended up with only 13 eyes, perfect cookie cutters though. 16"-18", They jigged trolled drifted spinners and jigs..... the works. They focused deep water too. He declined much water movement though. Maybe by Presidents weekend the water will be moving more.
Let me know if you would be intrested in a two dayer. Keep in touch.

Oh, I'm tellin' ya, I'm sure that motor was laughing in the way that a fish waves goodbye after spitting the hook!!
By the way, I tie a few flies myself. I was going to try an orange Kekeda copy that I tied myself. There is always next time. I'm looking forward to your next report!

Hey Mark, I'll start working that on the home front. What night would you want to stay? I was also looking at hitting Hydro this Saturday.

Well I can be your huckelberry for this Sat. at Hydro maybe, and we can put a plan together for Presidents day weekend. A Hall Pass won't be nessesary either for a local trip according to my figures!!! But my figures aren't what counts. First things first though, I am trying to catch that crud again. I don't want to pass it on to you and or make it worst like I did New Years day. So we can play it by ear. Give me a call Friday night.

Good luck with the orange fly. You might find some things you like about the Kekeda fly and some things that you want to change. That's the fun part of tying for me, the experimenting. Unfortunately most of my experimenting ends up looking weird and crazy. Take care- Dave

Hey DaveBrowning, I've copied frisky Jennies & now the Kekeda. It keeps my mind close to the water. Experimenting in these type flies sure does take a lot of material!! But, I sure enjoy it.
