Brrrr...cold morning 13 degrees when we left home. Roads were good and hopes were high for another day of fast fishing at Roosevelt. Put in at Ft Spokane; the launch was icy to say the least. I think if we stop and drain our traliers before going back up the ramp after launching it would help. Also maybe pull to one side and not use the straight up approach to help keep ice off and don't forget your bucket of sand like I did!

Fishing was a little slower today. It took 15 minutes to get the first one and about four hours for the 10 fish limit. These fish are putting on weight and growing. The largest was 18" this trip. Caught them from the top to 35 feet deep. Frisky Jenny Lenny Special worked the best but we caught them on everything we tried.

Fresh fish for dinner is always a treat....yum!

Tight lines and Happy Thanksgiving. We are so privileged with all of the great fishing here in the Pacific Northwest - Alan

Lots of fun, and good advice on the ramp. Draining helps a lot, and your idea of pulling off the mainly used strip is also good. Nice report. Glad I'm not the only one willing to go out in this weather, or am I? Hmmm...

Al:
Your rubbing Salt in the wound just stop. You keep this up I'm going to have to drag the boat out of the shed.

Nice fish Alan! Wish I could have been out this weekend, but too much to do until week after Thanksgiving, maybe then. It's nice when we think of others and let the trailers drain at the water's edge, but some guys are in such a big hurry to launch they get in a tizzy if you do that and delay their precious time. ;-(

The slick conditions at Ft. Spokane prompted me to try Seven Bays years ago, I liked it so much I haven't been back to Ft. Spokane since. ;-)

So does anyone fish up by Kettle Falls this time of year for the Rainbows and Kokes? I never see any boats when I'm up there.

Ridgeratt, I was told that a record number of nice fish were raised and released from the net pens this spring at Kettle. If so the fishing should be really good. Also no rubbing salt intended.......tee heeee!

FishinChristian, There were 10 of us "crazies" fishing in the same area Saturday. Some of us have tops and heaters; the others are really rabid fisherman or just plain nuts about fishin' ; brrrrrrr.......

Hewesfisher, You are correct about the ramp difference. Ft Spokane is just closer if you are fishing the mouth although it's not far by water from Seven Bays to the mouth either. Coffee on? Alan

Thanks to you guys and past reports I launched at Ft Spokane and motored up to split rock this morning for the first time ever in my 14ft lowe, was a bit of a cold ride. The trip paid off, we boated 8 fish in less than an hour and the bite turn off, headed back to the mouth to scratch out our last 2 in short time was a great day. Thanks for letting me know this site is a great source of info.

Alan - Sure is, but it's 80 miles away from Roosevelt. ;-)
