Day 2 at buoy 10~ so today was Craig's birthday so we were joined by his daughter Ellie, her boyfriend Nick, and Scotty who graduated high school with Craig and I back in 1974 from Newbury Park HS in CA and I hadn't seen him since the 20 year class reunion so was a really special day for all of us and what a day it was!!
Started out again but a little later as more people means more things to load on the boat so didn't get to start our first run until almost 7am. Just as Kyle was putting the 1st rod in holder it got hit hard and it was fish on! Ellie took the rod and it was game on with her being a chip off the old shoulder of her dad, fought the fish like a pro and before long had a nice silver in the boat! We ended up with 8 fish on for the 1st troll but what today was turning out to be was a native show as fish after fish we netted had to be turned back due to too many fins so only 1 keeper for this run.
We had just an amazing day overall with us going 17 for 33 but the highlight was Nick fighting a monster king for about 30 minutes only to have to release it for being a native. Had to be pushing 35 lbs! Actually the real highlight was spending a wonderful day out on the water with great friends and family and being invited to be a part of it. Can't wait for next year as we are going to make this a tradition!!
Will be back in Seattle this week and hope to be getting a new motor for the Tin cup and get back out on the water by the weekend!!
