Freezing fog, temperatures to 1 below & a little wind on the Waterville flats had us looking at each other wondering if we were crazy. But, Roosevelt in the winter can be a lot of fun! Jerry brought his grandson Colby along. We did our best when Colby was running the boat. We caught the most of our fish between Spring Canyon & Eden Harbor. Air temp at the launch was 18 Degrees, constant slight breeze to windy enough to hamper boat control. We had been hiding from the wind and only picked up a few in Spring Canyon. We long lined with Rapalas & ran flies & wedding rings behind 4/0 dodgers on the downriggers at 10'. The flies were what they wanted. The pink and gold accounted for the most. I'm sure we could have limited if we had not spent time hiding from the wind. Watching Colby Reel'em in and Run the boat for Grandpa was a hoot! Total of 7 bows from 14' to 20'' and 2 Kokes 16 and 19''.
