Great morning, got up @ 2:30 to make it to the launch @ 3:45, downriggers in water by 4:25. Long line to wait for the narrow launch. started making the normal loop with the others. Picked up fish out way in the white water, fishing the rollers, and fish near the close set of shore bouys. TONS of people, tons of fish, sockeye were in thick, as the kings seem to come in waves. Slow morning bite! all in all a great time, be sure to be safe out there!!! A few people need to practice better common sence around people. total of 53 boats that I counted, all jamed in a small area.

Sounds about normal for Priest. Can be fun if everyone cooperates. Glad you had fun!

Were you fishing right below Wanapum Dam? There was an article in the Yakima paper this week about fishing for chinook and sockeye there. Was thinking about trying it this weekend, but not sure it is worth it if there are that many people!

Yes, Rocky, you did; ). Phish: Dunno about Merc, but in my experience, weekdays or crowds down there. Some even take time off from work to go. Responsible people like us would never do that. Yeah, uh-huh.

Yep. Boats, salmon and idiots. Takes a lot of cooperation between everyone to fish a spot as small as that below Wanapum. Probably be twice as many boats this weekend. Might have to take a sick day during the week to beat the big crowds.
