My parents made the trek from Michigan to visit me for the first time in Washington and my dad really wanted to fish sturgeon. I booked a charter with pacific salmon charters out of Ilwaco for June 7.

We left the dock a little before 0530 aboard the 56' boat Pacific Dream, with rainy/windy conditions, with 5 of us on board. The first place we fished didn't yield any fish, but it was extremely comfortable with a heated cabin, sat TV, and 2 heads.

The next spot got us our 2 keepers. I managed to land one at 46" and another guy got one at 41.5", along with a few other bites.

We moved upriver a bit looking for the fish and found a few more undersized fish. The total was 5 fish boated (2 keepers), 3 or 4 lost, and a bunch missed before we headed for the dock at 1430.

Captain Ed and Deckhand William did a great job for us out there keeping us on the fish. They were great guys and I'm definitely going out with them again. The fishing wasn't fast and furious, but it was consistent and a TON of fun! Highly recommended!
