Tried it out below Chief Joe Dam. Trolled mostly, orange, black & white, perch and crawdad colorred Rapalas. I threw a jig with and without slip bobber tipped with worms & or shrimp. 1/2 dozen other boats on the water. I did not see anybody boat a fish. It rained all morning. Lots of water flowing!!

AFK,

I was out there opening day (with about 65 other boats, I was told). Fishing wasn't good. We boated 5 and heard that only 80 fish were caught among the 65 boats. Last year, the fishing was red hot in August--we'll see what happens. Good luck to you in your fishing pursuits!

Thanks for the report, I've been to Rufus woods twice this year with bad luck only a couple of fish. I even did the Derby May 12. Its not the Rufus woods and lake Pateros that I know, whats going on? I guess it gets 60,000 + anglers a year now! maybe that has something to do with it. You would think that the 10 a day limit in Pateros we would be slaying the fish Hmmmmm.

Hey Highcountry, I agree, Rufus is not what it used to be. But, I'll continue to fish it. There are pigs to be had. Just not as many as the old days.
