The calendar says it's March, so that means it's time to see if the big girls are moving up to Rock Island Dam. The water temperature confirmed it's too early in March, however, and so the bite was non-existant. Couple the temperature (36 degrees) with very low flows and conditions were pretty tough. On the other hand, it was a very nice day to be out on the water, try some new gear, learn some of the river structure, and enjoy some sunshine. We tried jigging and blade baits. Probably should have tried some crawler spinners or drop shots, but.... Couple more weeks and maybe we'll try it again.
