Hi Guys
Headed back down to Rosie this morning , with 3 generations of the Evenson family from Spokane . After stopping in Creston for breakfast and talking with other sportsman in the cafe . One group was headed for Rufus and two guys were headed to a shooting ranch, to hunt pheasants . I thought to myself , what a great area we live in ! We headed down to Keller Ferry, the outside temp was showing 14 degrees . After spending the next 15 minutes putting clothes on,it was time to launch. Backed the boat in the water, you guessed it ! It was froze to the trailer , just short delay till she broke free . Rigged up two rods with pearch pattern fly and one with a Orange Rapala. We ended up with 12 nice Rainbows and put some big smiles on grandpa, son and grandson.

Hey Charlie, way to go! Nice stringer of winter 'bows too. Side question for you, do you tow with your canvas up or down in those temps? Dealer told me not to tow with canvas up below freezing, I've cheated a few times down to mid 20s, but not into the teens. Thanks for the vicarious fishing trip. :-)

Great to here the fish are cooperating......Thanks for the report. Hey Kevinbe I always leave my canvas up in the winter. It is 6 years old and I never have had a problem.

HI Hewesfisher
My canvas has been up since the day it rolled out of the factory 2004 . No problems ! I wouldn't think raising and lower it when the weather is below freezing would be not good on the materials .

Thanks for canvas tips. I leave mine up, don't raise/lower, just don't leave the house with temps in the mid 20s or lower. Maybe I'll venture out in colder weather more often now! :-)

I have the opposite approach as some of you guys. I never trailer with the top up. On my old boat, the side curtains were so beat up that you couldn't see through them at all. I hated that. The guys that fish with me most likely don’t like the extra 15 minutes at load and unload, but my side curtains are immaculate. To me there is a safety factor involved when you can't see out the sides, especially during the summer when the nuisance crafts are at full force.
