Hit the Arm on Saturday. We launched out of Porcupine in my buddy Glenns Lowe. There were three of us including another buddy Brendan. Headed up to buoy 5 to catch some Burbot. There were actually two boats, another buddy Ron and his dad also joined the Burbot hunt. We started out at a deep hole just down river from the base of the buoy five spit. My buds were using jigs and I was using a Norisada blade bait. I caught three Burbot fairly quickly, all were caught while conducting drive byes of my blade bait. Glenn caught the only Walleyes of the day, a nice 20in and a 15in. We ended up with about 14 Burbot, lost a couple more at boatside waiting for the net. Ron in the other boat limited out on Burbot just up river of the buoy along the spit itself, no Walleyes. We hit the area around the buoy 5 spit and picked up two Burbot ourselves. A red jig with a robo worm produced the best. After cleaning the Burbot Glenn said they were stuffed with crawfish, Walleyes stomachs were empty. Water temp was right at 37deg. Will try to post a picture of Glenns deadwell if I can. I have tried several other times and the pics seemed to upload but never showed up on the report.
