We spent 4 days fishing here and did well. 30+ trout caught (ranging from 10" to 16") , a few small bass and some golden shiners. Most of the trout were caught on very heavily weighted line with pop gear and a dick nite or just a fly with a live worm. These lakes are 50+ feet deep so its best to get as close to the bottom as possible in good weather...very slow trolling is the way to go. Dock fishing with a worm and bobber is also pretty productive if you cast far out away from those pesky shiners...I caught a 14" rainbow almost instantly on the first cast.
All of the trout in these lakes are infected with sea lice or some kind of other parasites. I don't think they are a possible health concern but the trout are very weird looking, freaked me out at first.
We fished a bit for bass...they bite on ANYTHING, largest one caught was 10". We heard of someone catching a 5 pounder on tuesday.
Also, if someone catches a yellow ugly stick rod and reel in the south west end of the south lake, a reward will be granted. On that note, please don't drink and boat.
