This was supposed to be a 3-day trip with my usual battle buddy, but he had a little accident, so I went solo ... paybacks! (inside joke). It took me all day but I finally got a limit. Magic depth was 45 feet, trolling spinners with crawlers. No real significant fish....just typical Roosevelt eaters. Surface temps were 70-72. Glorious bright sunshine, low 90's ambient, and very light winds. I had to keep the wet towels soaking to stay cool. Which leads me to the attached picture, from a trip around last New Year's. It's interesting to bake on Roosevelt in August in 90 degree weather, and freeze in December when it's 3 below!

I know that feeling growing up on Rainy Lake where it goes from the hi 90's this time of year down to -30 in January when your punching through 4-5' of ice to get at the Walleye. Headed back there in a couple weeks to do some fishing. Keep them reports a coming Lundegard.

Excellent timing on the picture! What a reality check. Thanks

You did better than we did Lund, we only boated small SMBs and one rainbow for our efforts, but it sure wasn't for the lack of trying. Mornings were nice, but by the afternoon it was almost uncomfortably hot. What area were you fishing at? We were in the Seven Bays area, but also fished Swawilla and Whitestone on Saturday.
