Launched saturday morning at Porcupine Bay and headed upriver. Hit several spots on the way to buoy five. Caught lots of dinks in 20'-40' of water. Motor oil and chartruese were the best grub body colors. Targeted back eddy areas. The current is quite strong, tried to go upriver from buoy five but the current was too strong to actually fish and if you don't know the river well, I do, its a good way to destroy your motor. Most wallys were 12-14in. Did catch two keepers, one 18in and the other 23in, both were caught trolling a down deep husky jerk, perch pattern in 16'-22' about a half mile down river from buoy five right before the river takes a hard turn right heading back to the launch.

Water temp: 57
Bait: 5/8oz and grub/husky jerk

Depends on where you want to end up at. If your planning on going up the arm then Porcupine is the way to go. If you want to get out on the main river launch at Ft Spokane. The distance isn't all that much different when driving from Spokane.
