Decided to take a chance to brave the weather with the forcast of winds up to 30 mph and rain and snow for thursday but nice on friday. The weather man was dead on! We had rain, sleet snow off in the distance, and LOTS of wind!! We fished it though! If it would get to rough we would run for a near by bay and hide for a while and eat some snacks and take a break. Then sneak back out and hit it hard. the drifts were great after figuring out how to work with it and not fight it, and use it to troll with rather then the motor. Water temp is climbing and the fish are becoming more active. Thursday we got 11 Walley and 5 Lings. For the weather we had it was an awsome day. And the fish were up in shallower water then from today. They were about 10-20 feet deeper today. So the tip i'm sharing is you have got to fish diffrent depths with weather and cloud cover being a factor, until you find them. If you catch some one day, they might be long gone the next. We had obviously cloudy and overcast skys thurs. and bright clear sunny weather that drove them down upto 20 feet deeper the very next day. Also where we foud them thursday we only got 3 fish today, so we moved and found them a few miles away at another spot. Also this is a great time to get out there and check out the lake and do some mapping. I am looking at everything I was fishing last year and seeing why I caught fish in some areas and not in the others. With that in mind though be careful!! the water is soooo low! Rocks and things that were 70 feet deep before are out of the water now. As for today we caught 13 walley 10 from after moving to the other spot and we had one drift where we caught 4 or 5 of them with 2 seperate doubles! What a blast!! No lings today and my guess is they went deeper then Mr Wallace, to hide from the sun. What a beutiful day and place this is! We are truely lucky to have this in our back door! So please pick-up after yourself and take care of it.

P.S. Photos are taken at home, those are the three biggest ones and they are on a 22" cutting board. The biggest was 19.5, and lots of 17's and lower. The other one is of todays catch in the cooler. In two days we caught 29 fish!! Things are heating up and they are getting ready to spawn, as the hens all have lock jaw since these were all bucks.

Keep it safe out there.

Did you have any binoculars to help you find them?! Nicely done, sure wish I could've been there.

Love the way their eyes light up in a photo. Great job out there in sticking with it through the various conditions. You guys use a drift sock or two by chance?
