Had a chance to go steelheading with my Uncle. We launched at Ringold. We got there at 10:00. Water level is pretty high You could barely pull through on land in the round about. There were 3 boats launching with us and a handful of bank fisherman. We made 3 trolls at different points along the upriver side of the launch pulling red and orange Hot Lips. We fished in 10-15' of water along the shore slow trolling our plugs up river. The water clarity was about 2-3 feet.
We didn't get a sniff in 5.5 hours. we pulled out at 3:30.
There was one guy who reported boating 5 drifting eggs on the bottom from his boat. One guy on the shore said he had 2 C&R'd to the bank. fish counter said there were 13 caught that day.
Steelhead fishing closes next week here.
