Went with a couple real good friends and took his big Sea Raider to try new planer boards. Put in at Spring Canyon and fished all day. Compared to the folks up near Seven Bays, the fishing was terrible. For 3 of us, we boated 11. We trolled a lot of gear and didn't miss any of the normal poisons. I would say this: from Keller down to the dam, the bite hasn't turned on yet. We ended up catching all our fish up the mouth of the Sanpoil. Husky jerks were the deal, probably because they dove just a tad deeper than the rest. Speeds were 2.0 to 3.5. Real tough to pick a speed due to the heavy swell and high winds. We were able to keep a plethora of baits out due to the awesome boat we were in. And it allowed us to tolerate the rough weather. The fish were larger than average years, with several over 20. We had real grand time, and this was the first of our 3 days.
