Went out for a day after Thanksgiving. Air temp. was 24F water temp around 50F weather was snowing for the first half of the day then stopped and we had high clouds and some blue sky off in the distance. Light breez off and on. Water level was up to normal pool levels with some flow, but steady for most the day. ( Good thing I left all the lights on and windows open at home ) We ended up with 7 fish in the box for a total of aprox. 15 Lbs of meat. Biggest fish around 4.5 Lbs maybe. Missed several fish through the day. Spot was iced up with 2" of solid ice. very dangerous!! We chipped it away and bilt a fire wich helped. I still took a heck of a spill and wacked my head on the Iced Rock and I'm still feeling it today. Almost slid into the water! Thanks to my wife for stopping me, She must really love me cause she had her chance (LOL) Towards the end of the day around 2 PM the fish became fairly active on the surface, and we were able to watch 3 of our fish commit suicide. We could see them swiming by and we would slowly bring in a pole and watch them take it. What a rush!! Man they are pigs. They would hit it and if they missed it they would spin right back around and really take it then. Had a great day and lots of fun!! Watch out for that ice though!! It'll get chya!! Also the tribe is offering a very nice service. They cleaned all our tagged fish for us!! (LOL) Just kidding they would clean them but they wanted samples of their stomach contents for study purposes, when I cleaned the rest of them, they had mostly snails, but one was full of rocks!! Like I said PIGS!! If you don't have any means for breaking the ice, don't even try it!! It's bad!!
