Launched at 7 Bays and ran towards Lincoln. Dropped lines in the water at 10:00 AM. Limits for the wife and I by 12:00 noon. Even had a couple of doubles on. Fished about 12 to 15 feet deep off downriggers using large bucktail flies in pink or orange and green, both tipped with nightcrawler. Fair action to start, then added some lunker lotion trout/steelhead scent and the action really picked up. Tolling at about 2.0 to 2.5 mph ssemed to be best. This lake and the surrounding area are fantastic. Tons of wildlife and the scenery was world class. Basically had the section of lake we were on all to ourselves with the exception of a large band of bighorn sheep. This group of sheep was in full breeding mode with rams chasing ewes all over the hill side. Even saw some rams going at it to establish dominance and two of them rolled down the hill about 10 to 20 feet after some pushing and shoving. All fish were in the 15 to 17 inch range and I estimate about 2 pounds a piece. Nice red meat (got some of them in the smoker right now). Fish pictures are ho hum but I am attaching a shot of the sheep. The shot seems far off but if you are able to zoom you will get some detail. All in all a great trip.

Nice report and great pic! We've been watching for the sheep for the last couple years and still haven't seen them. Were you in the white center console boat? If so, my fishing buddy and I were recovering my boat at the dock the same time you were. My wife and I will be up there next weekend so we'll have to look for the sheep again! ;-)

yes we were in the white center console boat. You must have been in the terrific Hewes boat that we were admiring at the dock. Good luck next week. Wished we lived closer (we are from the Seattle area) to the lake. If we were closer we would be up there every weekend.

Yep, that was us, At least you got to see the sheep, we've been fishing there for years and have yet to see them. If we were closer, (hour and 40 minutes one way) we'd fish it every weekend too! Glad you two had a great time and caught some quality fish. :-D
