I took two rookies and launched at Spring Canyon. The water is coming up in the lake, so we started to crank all of the still exposed flats that have held fish over the past month. We did not produce with crank baits, so switched to grubs. That was the ticket in 10 to 15 ft. of water. The fish were scattered and not schooled as they have been over the past month and a half. We did find a school off of one point that always seems to hold fish. There were two big changes from my other trips this spring and that is the size of the fish were much smaller running in the 1 to 2 lb.range. We only caught one of 3lbs., and we caught fish off steep drop offs near deep water. We had a good day with 36 fish.
