First post on W.L . Been lurking awhile. Decided to finally take the plunge.

My dad, son, and I got up at the crack of dawn and went after the silvers in Roosevelt. We launched at Spring Canyon. The day was pretty slow with us only catching 5 fish. Caught 2 silvers and 3 rainbow. We fished at Swawilla and up by the dam and caught most of the fish in Swawilla. Several boats fishing but didn't see many fish caught. The silvers liked the apex my dad was trolling and the bows liked the rippin minnow my 9 year old was pulling. I tried all sorts of stuff on my pole and had only 1 hit all day but it was fun seeing my son catch fish. Funny how I decide what to out on his pole and he catches fish but I can't seem to get anything to hit mine. Usually we land some of the bigger silvers and bows (>20 inches) but couldn't seem to find them this trip. The biggest we caught was a silver that was about 17 inches that looked like one of the triploids from Rufus Woods. Also caught a 16inch native bow that was nice and fat. The others were all about 13 inches and were released.

Looking forward to the next trip to Roosevelt.

Nothing like the joy of seeing a young'un catch fish is there? Sometimes I have the same outcome setting up my wife's rigs, she almost always catches the biggest fish - hahaha. I had a blast with my niece and grand nephew at Roosevelt a few weeks ago watching them catch nice trout. Thanks for your report. :-)
