Camped out on the shoreline, fished for walleye and lings. Started off productive, we boated at least 25 walleye and one ling through out the trip. Second day was pretty slow but the weather was excellent and there was plenty of firewood around. The walley were smaller then expected 12-18 inches but they were sure good eatins. Ill try posting pics again, last ones didnt work

If you wouldn't mind sharing the info, what general area were you fishing? I'd like to try to go out this weekend but unfortunately can only bank fish or canoe it close to shore. Boat's not ready to go in the water. Thanks!

Well first off we camped at Detillion boat in campground which I highly recommend if you can make it there its about 2miles up the shore from porcupine bay ramp and has everything you could ever want. The Burbot was caught at 6am from the shore at camp and weighed 4lbs. I seen a lot of boats fishing the sand ledges outside Orazada Creek with bottom bouncers with some success. We tried that with no luck (only been Walleye fishing 3 times) so we stuck to 1/4oz. Yellow/Green Chartrues head with Yamo twin and single tails in smoke/green glitter and purple w/glitter tipped with Nightcrawler. 90% of our bites were in 50-65ft, we looked for changes in depth where a sand bar would meet a rocky area. Our hot spot was the rocky point left of Orazada Creek and between the shore and that island up from the Porcupine boat ramp. Try dropping your grub down to the bottom, let out an extra 8ft of line and troll real slow or let the wind spin ya around, you want your grub to hit bottom so often to stir up sediment, we had best luck slow jigging and letting the scent of worm do its thing. I'm not too sure where you could fish from bank for Walleye but I bet if you found any sandy bottom that met up with some admoralities in 50-60ft you'll get Walleye. At 42degrees surface temp and the nice weather, I can't see it slowing down much, so best of luck and hit it hard!

Thanks for the response. Nice of you to share the info, we'll be heading up in two weeks so at least we have a starting point. A lot could change in those weeks.
