Well, after hearing all the hoopla about Roosevelt, I and my son and puppy, put in at the Coulee Dam and worked that water to a frothy foam and brought home 1 fish. At least I didn't come home skunked! Is what I'm hearing about week-ends and water flow a deciding factor on catching these fish? I did not see too many boats between the dam and the park. Maybe half a dozen or so. Didn't see anyone with too much going on with the catching but everyone was pretty scattered. Even after fishing back to the dam on the South side I wasn't ready to give in. We buzzed back out clear past the park for that famous "evening bite" and fished back to the dam again. Not even a bite! Oh well. First time there and learning the ropes. Good day for fishing though.

My cousin fished at the boat launch next to the dam last weekend. They were dunkin powerbait 2ft off the bottom and caught 2 fish in 1.5 hours and had a few missed bites also.So the trout are there somewhere keep trying.

Try using a Roosevelt Fly, Rapala or an Apex next time. Save the Rooster Tail for Rufus Woods.

Hey Okanogan Sagerat, as you said, no skunks, so great job. Going to new waters is always exciting, and you caught fish. Best of luck next time
