Another great weekend outing at Lake Roosevelt. We limited in 2 hours on Saturday and in 1 hour on Sunday! Fishing was soo good, I couldn't keep up with cleaning the fish before they went in the cooler. At one point I had 4 nice rainbows on the deck Saturday, and I had both limits on the deck Sunday!! Matter of fact, it was so hectic Sunday I didn't have time to take any pictures because we were catching fish at the rate of one every 6 minutes including netting, de-hooking, re-rigging and letting line out. It was awesome!

We were using the same setup I have reported before, 18# leaded line w/50' leader and a Frisky Jenny perch fly (the Lenny Special) tipped with half a worm out 155' per line counter reels. Trolling speed was about 2.3 - 2.5mph.

We had snow Sunday and cold temps Saturday, but we had a great time and caught lots of great Lake Roosevelt rainbow. My wife finished her limit on Saturday with a 2lb, 7oz native rainbow. :-)

Looks like you've got the pattern down pat! Love reports like this! How do those 9' Daiwa rods handle the leaded line? I am thinking about trying it out this Winter on Lake Washington.

all it takes is worms and sharp hooks

A real beautiful part of the state, I have always enjoyed fishing that area and enjoy reports coming from that bend of the river. Do you ever run into some of the big Kokanies while targeting those bows??

Thanks guys, we sure do seem to have the pattern down lately. We've been fishing the exact same stretch of water - split rock - since the end of September with the same results. After our success Saturday I was kinda thinking of going somewhere else Sunday but just couldn't bring myself to pass on a sure thing. :-)

G-Man - I have the Daiwa's set up fore long lining mono and plugs but they just haven't been as good as the Frisky Jenny flies. We use an even more limber rod with the leaded line, it was sold by White's Outdoor here in Spokane when they still had their fishing department. I think they are called White's Lake Roosevelt Special or something like that. Have no clue who made them.

Have caught a few silvers in the same are we fished this weekend, but not this trip, Sure would like to get into more of them.

DannyP - We launch at Seven Bays and it's a 12 minute ride to our honey hole at Split Rock. Hard to beat that. :-)
