Several friends and I fish fri and sat at the mouth of the coville. Friday evening we didn't catch a whole lot of fish untill dusk till 1am. Mainly Burbot and a couple of smaller Eyes.
Saturday was pretty good after I figured out what do. First thing that morning a gentleman was fishing thowing a chartuse spinner bait and caught a 21'' Eye. After about two more hours and no one catching any more fish but getting subtle bites I dicided to try smothing I read about for light biteing Eyes.
I would do a lindy rig but hold my rod in my hand and my finger on the line with the bail open. When I felt any pressure on the line I would let it take several feet then flip the bail and if pressure was still there I would set the hook.
This worked pretty good for me I was one fish short at the end of the day for my Limt.
Then the ranger came by and made us leave where we were because it is agianst the law nowadays to park and camp anywhere along the river. So we had to go to an improved camp site and we thought we would give Marcus Island a shot becuase you can camp right next to the river. We did not catch anymore fish plus the weather was nasty the rest of the trip. All and all it was a good weekend trip agian.
