My son-in-law Brian and I put my boat in at the fort Spokane boat launch Monday at about 10am. we then cruised to the mouth of the Spokane river where we put 100 feet of clear line and a black stringing fly on a downrigger at a depth of ten feet. we also ran a black fly on a leaded line pole out to four colors. We trolled back and forth across the mouth of the river and had our limit of five rainbows by one clock! All of these fish were between 16 and 19 inches. Despite the cold water 40 degrees the fish fought hard with several breaking water two or three times. We'll be going back this week when our schedules permit.
