Launched at Porcupine at 6am. Fished until 3pm. Tried the cemetery, A frame, Blue Creek and Buoy 5 with very little success (one small walleye and several small smallmouth). Was told by several fisherman throughout the day that the previous two weeks were lights-out fishing, with limits being the rule. Decided to try up further. Got to within about 2 miles of the dam before I chickened out on going any further. Caught 4 nice walleye (16-20") and several nice smallmouth including one about 4lbs-and yes, it was put back). We were trolling/drifting bottom walkers, with green spinners and a worm. Talked to several fishermen and no one was having any luck. Off the water at 3:30.
I sure wish I knew where they disappear to on days like that.
Man, it was a gorgeous day for fishing, but the fish were definitely not on the bite (or we just never found them).
Good luck!!
