I fished Roosevelt from about 1 mile up river to the dam using plastic Senko's, grubs, tubes and crankbaits. Although I caught smallmouth on all, the tubes worked best (light brown), then the Senko (5" black). The weather was clear and warm, in the 80's. I didn't have any problems catching fish, but, they were all very small, about 6 to 9 inches; nothing larger. I tried this lake for 2 days, once in the morning and the once in the evening with the same results. A lot of fish, no size to speak of. This was my first experience at this lake so maybe I just need to fish it a bit more and find out where the larger fish hang out. Nice lake, lots of area to fish with very little to no fishing pressure that I saw while fishing.
