Arrived on the water at Hunters at 0845. Was trolling with my usual rippin minnow with a perch colored underside. Had one hit at 0910. At 0945 all heck broke loose. Boated 3 fish in a row largest being 22.5", 21", and 19". Picked up 2 more 16" on a muddler minnow with a wigglen fin disc. Let one go at the boat trying to upgrade. Couple more hits later but really slowed. Was off the water at 1415. All were caught on top of the water or should say top 10', 115" to 150" behind the boat. Water temp 44* and weather was good as well as the road over. Enclosed are some pictures. Will be smoking them up later. Usually go out by myself on Mon and Tues and have room for another if anyone interested. Heated/covered boat...easy fishing. Drop a note if ya want. Good Luck to all

Nice fish there. Do you ever try trolling with flasers? like wedding rings or something like that? I also was woundering if you live in Spokane? I would like to catch a trip with you sometime?I can only make the weekends though. Keep up the good times.

Used to use flasher and wedding rings, do sometimes when the fish go deep. On occasion I use an Apex or trout killer. This time of year they are near surface and dont have to mess with the gear. I live in Deer Park, Sundays might work, i get off at 3am and have been known to get up and go fishing. See what I got going this weekend

How fast do you troll with that minnow? Have you tried flies? We are thinking about going up to Kettle for the week end, have you fished that area lately?

Have not fished north of Hunters. 1.8 to 2.5 mph is the speed. Have tried bigger trolling flies with no luck, muddler minnows are all I have used in that regard.

Nice catch!! Jim told me to check your report. Thanks for making the reservations at Rufus. Can't wait until January. We need to get over there once or twice before then. Hit me up if you need a second on Roosevelt or we can take my boat to Rock. jasmoore@wsu.edu

Danny,
Out of curiosity, why Hunters? Do you come in from Springdale? I live right near Fort Spokane, so was just wondering. TJ.

D.... how well do you think the wigglin fin discs worked???? were they the cause of your success???

TJ, I fish Hunters only beacause it is closest for me coming out of Deer Park. Been down to 2 rivers and 7 bays as well, another 20 to 30 min driving though. Hunters has one of the best ramps around as well and I generally have good success there.

Zaskar, I thought the wiggle fin did a great job, adds alot of action to the fly. First time I ever used one. I mostly fish with the rippin minnow, catch bigger fish usually...bigger lure. I catch walleye on the same thing from time to time. Just a good lure to play with. Tried the fly only because of the Rufus woods successes they have been having. Hope that helps ya out. Dan
