Me and my brother went out to the Columbia on our 12 foot raft(Kinda scary). We started fishing at the steamboat landing dock. the water was moving really fast because the water is so high. We tried to anchor at the mouth of the washougal and we stopped fine. But when we tried to leave that spot we noticed that the anchor was stuck. Our raft began to get sucked under so i cut the line. Now that we couldn't stop we drifted down to the I-205 bridge and tied up to a pylon. We fished for a while and caught a 30 and a 29 inch sturgeon. We were using sand shrimp on the bottom. I cant wait to get out there on my real boat. I am definitely going in the next week or so.

Lesson learned I hope - good thing you had a knife and the presence to cut that line.

Wow, I never thought anyone would try to brave the columbia with a 12ft raft lmao. You definitely have more guts than me, unfortunately thats how some people go missing and never get found. I would definitely leave some info on your where abouts before going out there with just you and your brother. A cell-phone wouldnt hurt neither. I have no knowledge of the columbia myself, so I try to stick to shore or go out with someone far more knowledgable than me. With that said, I am glad you managed to think on your feet and get away unharmed. Hopefully this will make a great story someday.
