Water temps only up to 47*, I found 48.1 but I could have stepped off the boat and it would have been ankle deep. Flipped and pitched everything with multiple colors and varying weights and nothing so much as spooked. Two hours in and here came the wind and whitecaps! Stayed with it for another 4 hours but finally pulled the rip cord.
Getting old real quick! This lake is shallow and grassy and I fished out to about 8 foot and all the way up to holes in the mat I would have had to pull a bass over floating land mass if I hooked it. I tried some moving baits and even topwater just to play with my new frog rod, may as well been fishing a puddle.
The only excitement was when a stupid trout short struck my jig on the way back to the boat and then swam under me. Not sure where tomorrow will take me but I'm done driving any distance until Mid-April at this point. U-G-L-Y.
