Some of anglers in the forum knows this place, the crappies are still out deep and bites are more aggressive early am.
Straight/ tight line trick with 2lb test line+ ultra light rod as they are super sensitive biters when it's cold. Using 1/64oz gold jig with chartreuse tube (and sometimes mixing it up with pumpkin color tube).
Easiest time to catch them is when a strong wind picks up, just set your rod on the boat, watch the tip of the rod for bite, and set the hook!
Ended up going home with a basket from 8" - 13" along with a couple of pumpkinseed.
