Some of anglers in the forum knows this place, the crappies are still out deep and bites are more aggressive early am.
Straight/ tight line trick with 2lb test line+ ultra light rod as they are super sensitive biters when it's cold. Using 1/64oz gold jig with chartreuse tube (and sometimes mixing it up with pumpkin color tube).

Easiest time to catch them is when a strong wind picks up, just set your rod on the boat, watch the tip of the rod for bite, and set the hook!

Ended up going home with a basket from 8" - 13" along with a couple of pumpkinseed.

Thanks CWU-Barrett, there are definitely slabs here - the biggest I've seen is a 15" during the spawning season - can't wait 'til spring comes around!

Now, I don't want to sound like the guys that quote this reg and that rule ect. But I have never seen the reason to show fish from a secret spot. Those are great fish, and good job to you of course. But I always though this site was for sharing experiences as well as to teach each other how to and where to so we can all learn more about our favorite hobbie's...fishing. Stepping off my soap box now and like I said. Great bag of fish!

We added the secret location report form to allow anglers to share successes but not have to give away a location. Some like it, some not so much. It's funny, with the recent forum conversation about Facebook, there if you post the location people freak out. Like its a big secret there are steelhead in the Cowlitz, lol. Here, people don't appreciate not having the location revealed. Life is funny...

Reason why I post: 1) You can catch crappies in the body of water in your neck of the woods 2) Some body of water, you only have space for a handful of vehicles, imagine if hundreds shows up? 3) There are irresponsible people that will show up and leave thrash (especially if they don't catch fish) 4) I do provide tips and tricks on how to catch 5) There are people that do appreciate secret posting and will private message me for advice, and in return I do respond back
