My friend and I hiked into Ida lake (Snohomish county WA) on Saturday, it's off the sultan river diversion rd. 1.5 miles walk on flat gravel rd, then 1/2 mile hike on a tiny footpath, I've seen game trails that are better developed. we arrived there and right away saw a large cutthroat jump clear out of the water across the lake from us. At first we had solitude, and expected it to stay that way, but after an hour there we we're joined by other fisherman. I started off using a bobber/worm, which produced fish here and there my friend used a castmaster, which worked also, after a while more people showed up, and as the day went on we saw 10 other people fish this lake. At the end of the day I caught and released 5 Cuttbow and my friend caught and kept 2, the ones I caught we're 8" 8" 8" 12" and 12", I watched another fisherman land a 16" Cuttbow,I was surprised to see they got that big in this little lake, I'll definitely be back. if you decide to try to hike in keep in mind that the path could be easily lost because at some points it's nearly indistinguishable.
