I decided to try a new lake today, and I am glad I did. I met chwong at 7:15am at the lake by 9:15. He trolled a spoon and I trolled a castmaster, and a wedding ring. I trolled to the far end of the lakes with 2 drive by hits. CHwong caught a 12" brookie and released it, so I switched up to a deep diving f7 Rapala. 3 minutes into trolling I get a huge hit, set the hook, Fish on. I brought in my personal best ever brook trout of 13" then another 5 minutes later of 14" and chunky. We both trolled for another hour before the weather blew us off the lake, I missed a couple hits on the way back too. Left the lake at 12:00. My first Washington state brook trout, my personal best brook trout ever, and a successful scouting of a new lake, along with good company, makes this a 5 star day. If we had more time and better weather I could only imagine how well we would have done.
