I Decided to drive into Mud lake which is located just outside of Nachese in Yakima county. It is possible to do it from the upper end of the lake but it's 10 miles of jeep trail quality road and took me 2 hours to do it. Once I got there, the lake was beautiful but small. I got one strike right off the bat but nothing after that. It's not really worth the trouble to get there unless you're going to camp. Take a float tube or chest waders because there's almost no shore access to the water. It's choked with reids around the edge. The only real perk of this lake is the fish are HUGE!!! I saw several trout near the edge of the water that were easily 8+ lbs. The fish I cought was a rainbow and between 5-8 lbs. It's all selective gear rules though. :( All in all, not really worth the effort to drive into. You can hike in from just down over the edge off of highway 410 but watch for rattle snakes.
