Made several visits to this lake over the week with the bride during a short hiatus. Zero action during the day but after 7pm with the sun going down, fishing really picked up. The very first fish I hooked had to be pushing four pounds; never got it turned as I thought it was going to smoke my four-weight setup. It attacked my olive leech pattern on a full sink line while casting and stripping. When the fish started slurpoing during the heavy hatches, I started throwing my mini-bugger on a floating line and fish averaging over a pound were slamming it on the fall, some close to two pounds. The action continued just at dark but I had to give it all up; my bride couldn't handle the thick hatch flying into her face, hair, clothes, or Colby, our dog. I did go back by myself several more times in the early evening and fishing continued to be very productive...
